The Hong Kong Racing Museum is located on the second floor of the Happy Valley Stand at the Happy Valley Racecourse in Hong Kong. The museum preserves valuable materials related to the development of horse racing in Hong Kong from the mid-19th century to the present. Exhibits include the skeleton of “Silver Lining,” Hong Kong’s three-time Horse of the Year, as well as two interactive game machines that provide educational information about the horse life cycle and equine anatomy.

Opened on October 18, 1996, the Hong Kong Racing Museum covers an area of over 6,000 square feet. The museum features eight exhibition halls, a cinema that can accommodate 84 people, and a gift gallery. The themes of the various exhibition areas include the history of horse racing in Hong Kong, the development of the Happy Valley and Sha Tin racecourses, as well as information on several legendary racehorses. The cinema regularly screens short films about horse racing, offering visitors a deeper understanding of Hong Kong’s racing heritage. While exploring the exhibition halls and gift gallery, you can also enjoy stunning views of the racecourse. Admission to the Racing Museum is free. Since its opening, it has attracted over 360,000 visitors from Hong Kong and overseas. Horse racing enthusiasts should definitely not miss it!
