Hong Kong Food Cheat Sheet: Eat at 22 Restaurants & Snack Stalls for Just HK$1,000

Traveling to Hong Kong is all about indulging in delicious food！ In recent years, prices in Hong Kong have skyrocketed, going up in several rounds, often significantly higher than in Taiwan. But during my three-day-two-night trip over Christmas 2016, I successfully challenged myself to eat at 22 restaurants for under HK$1,000！ To be precise, two of us spent just HK$948！ That’s two people！ Two people！ Including transportation and other miscellaneous expenses, we kept our total for two people under HK$1,300. We were never hungry and ate amazingly well.

These 22 restaurants include Michelin one-star spots, Michelin-recommended street food, must-try tourist favorites, local delicacies, and Instagram-worthy hits. I’ve compiled my research into this Hong Kong Food Cheat Sheet guide, organized by MTR station for easier browsing. Detailed food reviews will be added later. This guide covers everything from classic Hong Kong-style dim sum, cha chaan tengs, breakfast, afternoon tea, late-night eats, desserts, sweet soups, and unique snacks.
