Tokyo’s Tsukiji Market to Open Overseas Branch in Hong Kong’s Wan Chai in October

Tokyo’s Tsukiji Market is also opening an overseas branch. According to reports from Hong Kong media, Sanki Group—the largest wholesaler within Tsukiji Market—is set to open“Tsukiji ‘Sankei Seafood Market’”, which will not only provide freshly imported seafood directly from Japan but, following the model of Tsukiji Market, will also include sushi and freshly caught, grilled seafood sections, allowing travelers to enjoy the freshest and sweetest sea flavors.

The “Tsukiji ‘Sankei Seafood Market’” is expected to open this October, located at the Wan Chai Pier in Hong Kong. Following the model of Japan’s Tsukiji Market, it will not only offer wholesale of seafood from Japan and around the world but will also feature a freshly caught and grilled section, as well as dishes such as sushi, oysters, and sashimi. Visitors looking to enjoy fresh seafood can have all their cravings satisfied here.

Tokyo’s Tsukiji Market is set to relocate in November and will be renamed Toyosu Market. By opening an overseas branch, it aims to preserve visitors’ memories of Tsukiji Market.
