Hong Kong Po Leung Kuk History Museum

The Po Leung Kuk Museum is located at 66 Leighton Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. It is a museum dedicated to showcasing the development history of the Po Leung Kuk.

In 1979 (the year following the centennial celebration of the establishment of the Po Leung Kuk), the Board of the Po Leung Kuk decided to systematically organize the organization’s archival materials, and in 1980, a dedicated cabinet was set up for storage. On March 8, 1984, an exhibition room for cultural relics, located on the second floor of the Welfare Building (renamed as the Chung Kai-cheong Building in March 1996) within the organization, was officially opened. In 1996, the exhibition room was relocated to the Central Building and expanded into the Po Leung Kuk Heritage Gallery. The exhibition hall of the gallery completed its renovation on January 19, 1998, and was inaugurated by the Secretary for Justice, Elsie Leung Oi-sie, before opening to the public the following day. On May 23, 2002, the gallery was officially renamed the Po Leung Kuk History Museum.

Exhibition Content

Exhibition Room 1 (Permanent Exhibition). Current Services of the Po Leung Kuk: Through photographs, printed materials, souvenirs, and accompanying text panels, this section introduces the Po Leung Kuk's service overview in the areas of society, education, recreation, and culture.

Exhibition Room 2 (Special Exhibition). Dr. Ma Kam Ming Memorial Exhibition: Introduces Dr. Ma Kam Ming, who served as the First Chief Manager, Chairman, and Advisor of the Po Leung Kuk from 1958 to 2003, including his life story and contributions to the Po Leung Kuk.

Exhibition Room 3 (Special Exhibition). Treasured Exhibits: Displays early and distinctive archival materials and collections of the Po Leung Kuk.
