Aberdeen Promenade

Aberdeen Promenade is a waterfront promenade in Hong Kong, located along the Aberdeen waterfront on Hong Kong Island, on the northern shore of Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter. It was opened in 1992 and is managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong.

Since the mid-1970s, land reclamation projects have been carried out in Aberdeen, with the reclaimed land primarily used for the construction of the Aberdeen Centre and the Aberdeen Praya Road. The area south of Aberdeen Praya Road was designated for recreational use, leading to the development of a waterfront park. The park was completed and opened in 1992, becoming Hong Kong’s third waterfront park after Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade and Tsuen Wan Promenade.

Aberdeen Promenade stretches from the western end of Aberdeen Praya Road and Aberdeen Main Road near the Aberdeen Fish Market in the west, along the western Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter, to the eastern end at the intersection of Aberdeen Praya Road and Harbour View Path near Laguna Verde and the Aberdeen Tennis and Squash Centre, with a total length of approximately 800 metres.

Aberdeen Promenade features facilities such as an open plaza, children’s playground, and basketball courts. Along the shoreline, there are several kai-to and ferry terminals offering routes to Ap Lei Chau, Lamma Island, and Po Toi Island, as well as a shuttle boat to the Jumbo Floating Restaurant.
