Haiziwan Scenic Area

Haiziwan is an artificial lake scenic area known for its distinctive recreational activities such as diving, fishing, water skiing, and lakeside bathing.

The Haiziwan Scenic Area is located in the hinterland of Shawan, about 25 kilometers south of the county town. It was formed by the interception of water from the lower reaches of the Jingu River and the Qingshui River, geographically belonging to the alluvial fan delta submarine overflow zone. It is an emerging water recreation tourism area in Shawan County and is referred to as the "Hawaii of Shawan."

The lake area of Haiziwan features vast waters, majestic waves, and a hazy expanse. Due to the high transparency of the lake water and the ever-changing sky conditions, the lake appears either emerald green or azure blue, or in vibrant hues—truly a scene where “layers of blue vary in depth, and a hundred-mile mirror reflects all things.”

At the southern end of the lake area, a cape peninsula extends into the lake, connected to the shore by a narrow isthmus. This area is covered with layers of shrubs and aquatic plants in uneven arrangement. Water birds skim the lake while gliding in circles, ripples gently lap the shore, and the delicate, soft sandy beaches glisten brilliantly under the sun. In the clear lake water, various fish swim leisurely, sometimes gathering in groups, other times scattering apart—an utterly fascinating sight.

The newly built tourist facilities in the scenic area are now well-established. Visitors can take sightseeing tours around the lake by yacht or motorboat, go fishing by the isthmus, enjoy a lakeside bath, or have a picnic on the beach. All kinds of recreational activities promise a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
