Welcome the Joy of Summer — Baisha Bay Opens for Water Activities Starting May 1

Starting May 1, the well-known water activity destination Baisha Bay officially reopens daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. From July to September, opening hours are extended until 6:00 PM. In line with the health and welfare authority’s no-smoking policy, smoking has been prohibited on the beach since April 1, with violators facing fines ranging from NT$2,000 to NT$10,000.

Chen Meixiu, Director of the North Coast National Scenic Area Administration under the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, stated that in preparation for the peak season, the beach area has undergone a comprehensive cleanup. Additionally, relevant agencies such as the fire department, coast guard, and civilian water rescue associations have been invited to conduct safety and lifeguard drills for water activities. Director Chen also urged visitors to use designated swimming areas supervised by lifeguards to jointly enhance water activity safety.

Baisha Bay is located in Demei Village, Shimen District, New Taipei City. By car, follow Provincial Highway 2 to the 23K mark. For public transport, take the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Crown North Coast Line from Tamsui, or take bus numbers NO.862 or NO.863 bound for Jinshan, Shimen, or Keelung via Tamsui Bus or Keelung Bus, and get off at the “North Coast Scenic Area Administration Office (Baisha Bay) Station.”
