Sandaohezi Forest Park is situated 1 kilometer west of Shawan County and alongside National Highway 312, covering an area of over 1,000 acres. It is a national AA-level tourist attraction and a regional-level forest park. The park is encircled by a fruit base of over 3,800 acres, offering a stunning natural environment and breathtaking scenery. It stands out as the most distinctive ecologically themed urban garden among all the tourist attractions in Shawan County.

In May, during the blooming season, you can immerse yourself in the gifts of nature—take a spring outing to admire the fragrance of plum and peach blossoms, and enjoy fresh strawberries. From June to July, you can personally pick juicy peaches and flat peaches from the orchards. In August, you can savor crystal-clear grapes of various kinds and relish the unique pastoral scenery of the farmsteads. The park enjoys distinct seasons and a pleasant climate. In early spring, you can go on outings to welcome the season, appreciate flowers, and stroll through the gardens. In midsummer, the dense shade provides a cool refuge from the heat. In late autumn, the forests are painted in layers of color, perfect for fruit picking. In winter, the snow-covered landscape offers opportunities for hunting in the snowy wilderness. With its unique natural surroundings and abundant tourism resources, it is an ideal destination for summer retreats, sightseeing, leisure, entertainment, fitness, and swimming. The park features towering trees, lush greenery, flowing streams, and vibrant flowers. Following the winding forest paths deep into the park, you’ll see rows of straight poplar trees like pen shafts, dense birch woods stretching over a hundred feet, and various trees intermingling in lush abundance. When the breeze blows, the tree shadows dance gracefully, and rustling leaves create a soothing soundscape, offering a serene and tranquil atmosphere.

The forest park is populated with tall trees such as Betula pendula, Populus canescens, and Populus davidiana, with shrubs thriving beneath them, creating a carpet of green. Canals and streams wind through the area, accompanied by the constant sound of babbling water. The park encompasses over 300 acres of orchards, featuring peach, plum, apple, pear, jujube, wolfberry, and fig trees. Flat cement paths are laid out among the trees, along with uniquely designed stone bridges that lead to secluded spots. Various pavilions and towers are tucked away within the greenery, with red walls and buildings adding splashes of color to the lush surroundings—a truly delightful sight.

The park features a nearly 2-kilometer-long grapevine corridor. Stepping inside feels like entering a green tunnel, where grapevines twist and turn, laden with clusters of emerald-green, translucent grapes. The area is shaded by thick foliage, covered in layers of green, with springs and streams flowing through, creating an enchanting atmosphere.

In recent years, the park has introduced high-quality American turf and a variety of colorful European flowers—especially Dutch tulips, available for visitors to admire and purchase every April. The western part of the forest park has been designated as an animal protection zone, home to a range of wild birds and animals. Rare birds include red-crowned cranes, pheasants, golden pheasants, and others; wild animals include bears, monkeys, sika deer, sika deer, white-lipped deer, and roe deer.

For entertainment, the park offers rides especially for children, including electric trains, bumper cars, and go-karts. There are also standardized swimming pools for both adults and children. Additionally, a “Folk Village” has been set up within the scenic area, featuring uniquely styled Mongolian yurts that provide accommodation, dining, and resting options for visitors. Here, guests can not only try traditional Kazakh milk tea and grilled meat but also enjoy authentic Kazakh dances and dutar performances.

Since its establishment, the forest park has received widespread acclaim from all sectors of society. Every summer and autumn, it becomes an ideal gathering spot for group outings and friends’ reunions. In 1998, the Director-General of the United Nations World Bank visited the park with his family and spoke highly of it, praising it endlessly.
