Ningjiahe Scenic Area

Ningjiahe Scenic Area is located in Niujiaozi Ranch, Shawan County. It lies in a river valley on the northern foothills of the Tianshan Mountains. The valley is about 150 meters wide, with a stream running through it. The stream is approximately 2 meters wide, featuring clear, unpolluted water. The valley bottom is covered with well-growing grass, with a coverage rate of around 90%. As you hike up the valley, you’ll find spruce forests on the higher slopes. The forest is tall, dense, and lush, with a vegetation coverage rate of 85%. Within the woods and open glades, you may spot wild animals such as wild goats, red deer, and snowcocks. Near the woods and in the clearings, the grass is green, with wild strawberries and wild roses growing throughout. Occasionally, observant visitors might even discover medicinal herbs like codonopsis and fritillaria.

Ningjiahe is at a relatively high altitude and enjoys a cool climate, making it an ideal destination for summer travel. Here, you can hike to stay fit, admire snow-capped peaks, camp on grassy meadows, or spend the night in a Kazakh yurt.

Ningjiahe was officially developed in 1998, attracting nearly 10,000 visitors every year.
