Qiongbolu Forest Park is located in Qiongbolu Township, Qapqal Xibe Autonomous County, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang. It is 50 kilometers from the county seat and 65 kilometers from Yining City, making it the closest forest park to downtown Yining. Covering a total area of 90 square kilometers, the park has an average elevation of 1,910 meters, with its main peak, Baishi Peak, reaching an altitude of 3,475 meters. The Wusun Mountains contain a wealth of fossils preserved in Carboniferous biogenic limestone, with clear bedding planes covered in brachiopod fossils such as productid brachiopods and spiriferids. The Wusun Mountains serve not only as an important site for scientific research, camping, and education, but also as an ideal destination for sightseeing, summer retreats, and vacationing. The area enjoys a cool and moist climate, featuring picturesque scenery including peculiar peaks, canyons, waterfalls, forests, meadows, and riverside woodlands. Key attractions include the Qiongbolu Ancient Tombs, Qiongbolu Gully Waterfall, Shimen Scenic Area, Baishi Peak Scenic Area, skiing zone, wildlife park, amusement area, viewing area, scientific research zone, and health and leisure resort.
