Breaking the world record for the longest suspension bridge — a half-kilometer bridge suspended 30 stories high

Aside from Taiwan seeing more and more new suspension bridges and skywalks, the newly opened Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge in Switzerland has become the longest suspension bridge in the world. Its opening immediately drew international attention and attracted both domestic and international tourists.

The Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge spans over the famous Matterhorn peak in Switzerland, known for its spectacular Alpine scenery. With a total length of 494 meters and a width of just 65 centimeters, the bridge hangs 85 meters (about 30 stories) above the mountains and crosses through one of Switzerland’s deepest gorges, offering a magnificent and captivating view.

The Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge surpasses Germany’s “Titan RT” bridge, which is 459 meters long, to become the longest suspension bridge in the world. Thanks to this bridge, travelers can reduce their journey time by about 3 hours when traveling between the towns of Zermatt and Grächen, compared to taking the 3 to 4-hour road route via the Europaweg.
