Tugong Temple Tugong Temple is located at the northern foot of the Chabuchaer Mountain, on the southern bank of the Ili River Valley, near the Chabuchaer Grand Canal in Nadaqi Nongle Township, Qapqal Xibe Autonomous County. In the 13th year of the Jiaqing reign during the Qing Dynasty (1808), after the completion of the Chabuchaer Grand Canal, a shrine was built in honor of Tuhetuo, the commander of the Xibe Regiment, who initiated the construction of the canal. The temple covers a construction area of 30 square meters. On the main wall of the shrine is a colorful portrait of Tuhetuo, and inside there is a wooden plaque inscribed with his merits in the Xibe script. Sacrificial ceremonies are held here during the annual spring and autumn canal maintenance. It has now become one of the important tourist attractions.
