Dulata Port

Dulata Port, at an elevation of 780 meters, is a commercial port between China and Kazakhstan. It is a jointly planned but yet-to-be-developed port under bilateral agreement, facing Qongja County in Almaty Region, Kazakhstan. The area around the port features flat terrain stretching as far as the eye can see. To the north, the Ili River Valley is visible, while the Wusun Mountains lie to the south. The ground is covered with drought-resistant desert steppe vegetation. The port’s infrastructure is still under construction. The Chinese side has built a two-story joint inspection hall, which has just been completed, located about 200 meters from the port. The Kazakh side has constructed some buildings approximately 2 kilometers from the port. Currently, the port has been approved by the State Council as a national first-class land port. It is only temporarily open at present, but will become one of the key channels for cargo and passenger exchanges between Yining City, the Ili region, and Kazakhstan. It is also set to develop into a multifunctional outward-oriented economic zone focused on cargo transshipment, border trade, and local trade. In the future, it will also serve as an important destination for tourism, sightseeing, leisure, and shopping.
