Site of Qing Dynasty Kalun in Ili

The Dolantu Kalun Site is located in the farmland of Company 1, Regiment 67, Fourth Division, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, southwest of Qapqal County. It was built in 1777. The site measures 30 meters from north to south, 30 meters from east to west, with a remaining height of 4 meters, a thickness of 2 meters, and a top thickness of 1 meter. The building area covers 600 square meters, and it is a structure made of wood and earth. Observation posts are situated around the site, and the compound includes residential buildings, grain storage, stables, and hay sheds. Due to years of disrepair and natural damage, the buildings inside the kalun no longer exist, and only the four remaining broken walls are left. The Dolantu Kalun Site is one of the few remaining Qing Dynasty kalun sites in Ili Prefecture.
