Akebulake Grassland is located north of the government seat of Heiying Mountain Township, with a straight-line distance of 60.9 kilometers from the county town. It serves as the summer grazing site for the township’s government-run pasture and is one of the larger grasslands in the county. Some sheep herds winter here during the cold season.

The area generally sits at an altitude of around 2,000 meters, with high peaks reaching up to 4,835 meters. The mountains are capped with year-round snow, while the lower slopes are covered with dense spruce forests, and the valleys boast lush pastures. There are over 20 sheepfolds and several wooden cabins have been built. The pasture supports more than 30,000 livestock including cattle, sheep, horses, donkeys, and camels. The annual slaughtering capacity of the grassland can reach 120,000–150,000 animals.

To get here from the township government seat, head north along the Bozikelige River, passing through Keilekemamatashi and Terekqikun, then cross the Tuogaidaban Pass, skirt around both sides of Akekule (Clear Water Lake), descend via the Dikandaban Pass, and you will arrive. “Akebulake,” in the Uyghur language, means “clear water spring,” named for its pristine springs. Visiting this area allows travelers to experience nomadic life while enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the vast grasslands, making it an ideal summer retreat and escape from the heat.
