Focusing on the legendary Chamdo, another major tourism event is on the horizon. From November 6 to November 10, the “Magical Baxoi – Journey of the Brave” 2017 (2nd) China Ranwu Tourism Summit Forum will be held in Chamdo. This forum is jointly organized by the Tibet Autonomous Region Tourism Development Commission and the People’s Government of Chamdo City, and hosted by the People’s Government of Baxoi County and the Chamdo Municipal Tourism Development Commission, guided by the Fuzhou Tourism Development Commission and the China Association of Automobiles and Ships, and co-organized by Tibet Xiangteng Tourism Development Co., Ltd.
The 2nd Summit Forum actively responds to the national all-for-one tourism strategy
This is the second edition of the forum. Last year’s inaugural “Zhuozhuo Kangba – Legendary Chamdo” Ranwu Tourism Summit Forum in 2016 attracted attention from the tourism industry and travelers across Tibet and even the whole country. This year, to build on the success of the first forum, continue to explore and utilize the ecological tourism resources of Ranwu Lake and Laigu Glacier, strengthen exchanges and cooperation among various cities, and achieve complementary advantages, the forum will once again invite numerous tourism experts, scholars, and leaders from around the country to discuss the development strategies for Chamdo’s tourism industry. A variety of colorful activities, including cycling races, photography contests, and a tourism ambassador selection competition, will also be held to greatly enhance the visibility of Chamdo tourism.
At the same time, this forum is also a proactive response to the national “all-for-one tourism” strategy. It represents Chamdo’s effort to seize key strategic opportunities such as the Belt and Road Initiative, the construction of the South Asian overland corridor, and the development of the Himalayan Economic Rim. It is also a great opportunity for Chamdo to leverage its geographical advantage as a key stop along the ancient Tea Horse Road, and to showcase its unique tourism resources and profound historical and cultural heritage.
Three exciting competitions invite travelers to explore the stunning beauty of Ranwu
In addition to the high-level tourism summit, during the forum, events will be upgraded from last year’s Ranwu Lake “Laigu Glacier Photography Contest” and “Ranwu Lake Cycling Competition.” Three major competitions will be held: the Ranwu Lake Laigu Glacier Mountain Scenery Cycling Race, the Chamdo City Tourism Ambassador Selection Contest, and the Ranwu Lake Tourism Scenery Photography Contest.
The Ranwu Lake Laigu Glacier Mountain Scenery Cycling Race will gather top domestic cyclists and cycling enthusiasts in Ranwu. The race will be conducted in groups, giving participants of all skill levels the chance to compete for the championship and experience the joy of high-altitude cycling. Competitors will enjoy the pristine natural scenery and fresh air of Ranwu Lake during October—the most beautiful season here—perfectly blending travel with fitness. Participating in this high-altitude cycling event will be an unforgettable experience for all riders.
The Chamdo City Tourism Ambassador Selection Contest will search among all eligible men and women in Chamdo for the most representative ambassador of Chamdo’s charm, showcasing the purest image of Ranwu. After multiple rounds of selection based on talent, appearance, and other criteria, the winner will become the spokesperson and a mobile ambassador for Chamdo tourism, making greater contributions to its promotion and development.
As a paradise for photography enthusiasts, the Ranwu Lake Laigu Glacier National Park features majestic snow-capped mountains and glaciers, blue skies, and spectacular landscapes—all offering breathtaking photo opportunities. During the forum, the Ranwu Lake Tourism Scenery Photography Contest will also take place. Both professional photographers with advanced equipment and amateur enthusiasts capturing moments with their phones have the chance to win attractive prizes with outstanding works. Additionally, popular outdoor events like the International Camping Conference, traditional bonfire parties rich in ethnic flavor, and exciting award ceremonies will add even more charm to the forum.
