Kalayuergun Grottoes, [approximately 5 km southeast of Kalayuergun Village, Fifth Regiment, First Agricultural Division · Northern Dynasties to Tang Dynasty · County-level Cultural Relics Protection Unit] The caves are carved into the mountainside of Kalayuergun Mountain. The caves are arranged from east to west, and currently there are four numbered caves. The westernmost Cave 1 is a central-pillar cave with a longitudinal vaulted ceiling. The main chamber is 3.25 meters wide, 3 meters deep, and 2 meters high. The central pillar is 0.93 meters wide, with passageways on the left, right, and rear sides. The walls of the main chamber retain remnants of white plaster, and faded Chinese ink inscriptions are visible but illegible. The other caves are smaller, with no traces of murals, and may have served as meditation chambers or monks' quarters.
