Monument to Water Improvement

The Monument to Water Improvement is a cultural tourism attraction.

Introduction The Monument to Water Improvement is located in the water plant of Tuholo Village, Buzake Township, Hotan County, Xinjiang, 17 kilometers from Hotan City. The monument was built to commemorate the significant Rural Water Improvement Project in Hotan. Shaped like the Chinese character for "water," it is thus named the Water Character Monument. The monument stands 3.95 meters tall, with a base 0.8 meters high and a foundation 0.6 meters high. Its body is clad in white marble, while the inscription, text, and the list of donating organizations and individuals are engraved in both Uyghur and Chinese. Today, the Monument to Water Improvement has been included among the first batch of Socialist, Patriotic, and National Unity Education Bases in Hotan, Xinjiang, and has become one of the visiting sites for both domestic and international tourists.
