Glazed four-legged beast

Glazed four-legged beast, measuring 44 cm in length and 32 cm in height; the base is 21.8 cm long and 19 cm wide. Unearthed in 2001 from Tomb No. 3 of the Western Xia Tombs in Yinchuan, Ningxia, and now housed in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Museum.

The four-legged beast holds its head high, with front legs stretched forward and hind legs raised, resembling a fierce beast about to pounce on prey. The hollow columnar handle on its belly connects to the roof ridge tile, and the entire piece is covered with glossy green glaze.
