The Gongbei of Erlipu is a cultural heritage site protected by the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

Situated twenty li south of Guyuan County on the east side of the Pingyin Highway, after crossing the Qingshui River, you’ll find a majestic mosque nestled in an elegant, tree-lined environment and built along the mountain slope. Blending traditional Chinese and Islamic architectural styles, this grand, rustic, and solemn site is the renowned Gongbei of Erlipu in Guyuan.

Established in the 16th year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty, the Gongbei of Erlipu has undergone multiple instances of damage due to both natural and human factors, but has also been repeatedly restored and expanded over time, eventually reaching its current magnificent scale. Its architectural layout and style fully showcase the powerful integration of Islamic culture with traditional Chinese culture. First, the ambiance of traditional Chinese architecture is harmoniously blended with Islamic architectural elements. Second, it prominently displays carving and painting crafts infused with Islamic cultural motifs.
