The Wuwei Ta'erwan Carnival Ski Resort has officially commenced operations

The Wuwei Ta'erwan Carnival Ski Resort started construction in July this year, and has now completed the first phase of the project with an investment of 99.5 million yuan. The first phase covers an area of over 260 acres, and primarily includes skiing, ice skating, snow surfing, snow tanks, snowmobiles, adult adventure training, children's adventure training, horseback riding and archery, as well as paintball battles. Supporting infrastructure such as water, electricity, roads, heating, and communications have also been installed. The ski resort consists of a core skiing area, leisure service area, snow and ice amusement zone, and supporting facilities area, with a total snow-making area of approximately 100,000 square meters. The core skiing area is divided into three runs: a surf zone, a beginner slope, and an intermediate slope, with lengths of 360 meters, 400 meters, and 420 meters respectively, and widths of 20 meters, 60 meters, and 50 meters. The transport system includes three magic carpet lifts and one double chairlift. The leisure service area features a 2,400-square-meter visitor center that provides services such as ski equipment rentals. The snow and ice amusement zone mainly offers over 10 types of snow play activities, including sledding, snowman building, snowmobiling, snow paintball, and dog sledding, and can accommodate around 4,000 visitors daily. The completion of the ski resort fills a gap in winter tourism and entertainment offerings in Liangzhou District and even the entire city, bringing recreational, participatory, and entertaining cross-country skiing truly to the general public. It meets the entertainment needs of skiing enthusiasts and tourists from Wuwei and surrounding cities, becoming a new highlight in the promotion of accessible skiing and winter tourism. It holds significant importance for enhancing the overall tourism level and brand image of Liangzhou District, and for driving the development of year-round, high-end tourism.
The Wuwei Ta'erwan Qilian Snow and Ice Carnival (skiing/grass skiing resort) project is an investment-attracting project from the 2015 Lanzhou Fair in Liangzhou District. The project was signed with an investment of 200 million yuan, and will be built in two phases. The second phase, with an investment of 100.5 million yuan, includes the construction of a grass skiing field, a 4D cinema, a farmhouse resort, a hotel, as well as a 240-acre modern ecological sightseeing agricultural area along both sides of the road leading to the ski resort, focusing on the cultivation of organic vegetables, table grapes, and fruit trees. Ecological greening will also be carried out on barren hills within the project area and its surroundings.
