This event is guided by the Communist Youth League Beijing Municipal Committee, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development, and the Beijing Sports Federation, and is hosted by the People’s Government of Tongzhou District and the Beijing Hiking Association. It is organized by the Tongzhou District Sports Bureau, the Tongzhou District Tourism Development Commission, the Tongzhou District Gardening and Greening Bureau, Beijing Xincheng Jiye Investment Development Co., Ltd., the Tongzhou Hiking Association, Beijing Guoli Jiyuan Culture Co., Ltd., and other entities. The carnival will be held on November 29, 2014, at 9:00 AM at the Track and Field Stadium of the Tongzhou Canal Olympic Sports Park. The event will feature two hiking routes: one of 5 kilometers and another of 16 kilometers.
The main venue, as well as the starting and finishing points, will be located at the Track and Field Stadium of the Canal Olympic Sports Park. There will be certification checkpoints along the route. Participants will receive colored wristbands at various checkpoints (2 for the 5 km route and 6 for the 16 km route), which will serve as proof to get a commemorative stamp on their hiking passport at the finish line, as well as to receive an event souvenir.
A total of 2,000 spots will be available for this event, and registration is only open to groups of three or more people. Registration is open from now until November 25, and spots are limited—first come, first served. The registration fee is 50 RMB (including event insurance, clothing, hiking passport, souvenirs, etc.).
Transportation:
1. For public transport, take Metro Line Batong to Tongzhou Beiyuan Station (Exit A), walk to Tongzhou Beiyuan Intersection East Station, and then take Bus Tong 12, 667, 808, 322, or 804 to Dongguan Daqiao Station. Walk to the Canal Olympic Sports Park.
2. For those driving, take the Beijing-Tongzhou Expressway eastward, continue straight onto Xinhua West Street, then go straight through Xinhua East Street and Tonghu Street to reach the Canal Olympic Sports Park. Parking fees are at your own expense.
Registration Methods:
Method 1: Online registration and payment, with event materials delivered by express: Participating groups must register on the official website of the Beijing Hiking Association (www.tbbj.org). After online registration, pay the event fee online and accurately fill in the delivery address information (any losses due to incorrect address entry that prevent successful delivery will be the registrant’s responsibility). The Beijing Hiking Association will deliver the event materials by express, with the shipping fee borne by the registrant. Online registration and payment deadline is 6:00 PM on November 25.
Method 2: Online registration, payment and material pickup at registration site: Participating groups must register on the official website of the Beijing Hiking Association (www.tbbj.org). After online registration, print the “Online Registration Form” generated by the website. A group member must bring the form to the Beijing Hiking Association Secretariat (Room 318–319, Building 4, Zhushikou East Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing) between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM on November 26–27 to complete on-site payment and collect the event materials.
