Guanshan Yunfeng Scenic Area is located within the jurisdiction of the Malu Forest Farm in Zhangchuan Hui Autonomous County, covering an area of 57.68 square kilometers. It borders Tianjiamo to the north, extends southeast to Long County at the Shaanxi-Gansu border, and reaches the boundary between Zhangchuan County and Qingshui County to the west. The scenic area boasts overlapping green mountains, crystal-clear waters, lush forests, and uniquely shaped rugged rocks. The peaks display a variety of forms, with "clarity, serenity, beauty, elegance, grandeur, wonder, steepness, and danger" each contributing their distinct charm, creating a harmonious and picturesque scene. The area enjoys ever-changing scenery throughout the four seasons: in spring, the landscape is covered in fresh greenery; in summer, cool and refreshing streams flow abundantly; in autumn,

wildflowers bloom and forests are painted in vibrant hues, while in winter, the mountains are draped in silvery white, as if dancing with silver snakes.

The landscapes within the scenic area host a complete community of flora and fauna. Forests, grasslands, and canyon streams complement one another, forming a landscape resource system that combines natural beauty with cultural history and ethnic customs. This makes it a precious heritage of both nature and humanity, as well as an ideal destination for summer retreats, sightseeing, and group study tours.

The scenic area’s touring routes form a layout consisting of one central axis, one large loop, and four smaller loops. In October 2006, the scenic area was designated as a municipal-level scenic spot by the Tianshui Municipal People's Government. In February 2007, it was named a provincial-level forest park by the Gansu Provincial Forestry Department.

In July 2007, the Zhangchuan County Party Committee and County Government successfully hosted the first Guanshan “Hua’er” Festival at Guanshan Yunfeng Scenic Area. The county government allocated a special tourism development fund of over 1 million yuan to improve the area’s tourism infrastructure, significantly enhancing its overall appearance.

Guanshan Yunfeng Scenic Area now offers a variety of recreational activities for visitors, including hiking, fishing, horseback riding, archery, and camping. There is also an abundance of local mountain delicacies, featuring wild vegetables such as black dragon sprouts, bracken fern, sow thistle, May tips, wolf ear greens (also known as xiangtong stalks), asparagus lettuce, liangzi flowers, wild leeks, bitter lettuce, and alfalfa. Signature wild game dishes include pearl chicken, free-range chicken, wild rabbit, Qinling fine-scaled fish, and whole roasted lamb. The Changning Post Station farmhouse, which opened in April this year, provides comprehensive and high-quality services, with well-equipped facilities throughout the scenic area.

Transportation within the scenic area is convenient, with Provincial Highway 305 running through it. Roads, walking trails, and horse paths extend in all directions, allowing access to every attraction. Communication is also easy and efficient, with network coverage spanning the entire scenic area.

Guanshan Yunfeng Scenic Area is situated at the Shaanxi-Gansu border in Long County, connected to the Guanshan region of Shaanxi, together forming a vast natural scenic zone. The newly built Tianping Railway crosses through Guanshan and leads to Pingliang City.
