This media tour was organized by the Municipal Tourism Bureau, and co-hosted by Zhangjiakou Tourism Information Network and Lvtu Travel Network. With the theme "Visit Zhangjiakou, Embrace Winter with Passion," the event adhered to the principles of "experience-oriented, media interaction, showcasing premium products, highlighting unique features, and building the brand." The campaign involved unified action across the entire internet, joint interviews, and coordinated reporting. Centered around the "Great Mountains and Rivers of Zhangjiakou" brand and using "passionate tourism" as the narrative thread, the focus was on the "Eight Ones" winter tourism products. The tour aimed to closely examine new achievements and developments in Zhangjiakou’s winter tourism, including project development, product design, route planning, infrastructure, supporting facilities, and especially urban tourism construction. At the same time, the event closely aligned with two ongoing campaigns—"Passionate Zhangjiakou, Tourism Benefits Everyone" and "Great Mountains and Rivers of Zhangjiakou, Joyfully Celebrating the New Year"—to further enhance the visibility and influence of Zhangjiakou tourism, and continuously strengthen the vitality of its tourism brand.
Zheng Lirong, Member of the Municipal Standing Committee and Deputy Mayor, attended12the welcome banquet in the evening and gave a brief introduction to the overall strategy for the development of Zhangjiakou’s tourism industry. She also provided detailed information about activities that the journalists were interested in, such as the “Winter Tourism Benefits Everyone” campaign and the “Great Mountains and Rivers of Zhangjiakou, Joyful Spring Festival Carnival.”
Mayor Zheng stated that leveraging the unique geographical advantage of being within the capital’s economic circle, Zhangjiakou actively expanded its local market and worked diligently to grow its Beijing-Tianjin market. With careful organization and meticulous planning, the city2011saw new highs in tourist reception for the year.2011In1-12month, the city received a total of1502.68million tourists, a year-on-year increase of44.48%. Tourism revenue reached86.50billion yuan, marking a year-on-year growth of47.01%. In particular, during12month, the city welcomed131.71million visitors, an increase of44.63%compared to the previous year, with revenue amounting to7.58billion yuan, up47.26%year-on-year.
Over the following four days, the hundred online media outlets jointly explored the Great Mountains and Rivers, allowing millions of netizens to experience Zhangjiakou’s majestic landscapes through media coverage. The journalists visited counties such as Chongli, Yu County, and Huailai, where they personally experienced passionate skiing, Yu County folk customs, and Huailai hot springs—key winter tourism offerings. Throughout the tour, the journalists were captivated by the magnificent Dajingmen Gate in Qiaoxi District, thrilling skiing in Chongli, vibrant folk experiences in Yu County, and natural hot springs in Huailai.
