The Majiayuan Site is located in Majiayuan, Taoyuan Village, Muhexiang, Zhangchuan County. Backed by the Majiayuan mountain ridge and flanked on the east and west sides by the higher terrain of Dujialiang and Tuojialiang, it forms a basket-like landscape with a low, flat central area and steep, high edges on both sides, sheltered from the wind and facing the sun. The surface of the site consists of farmland, extending about 200 meters from Majiayuan as the center to the east and west. Within this range, there is a dense distribution of Warring States period tombs. These tombs are relatively large in scale and high in specification, containing rich historical and cultural information, making them of high archaeological value. In particular, the discovery of mid-to-late Warring States period chariots unearthed from ancient tombs is the first of its kind in Gansu Province and extremely rare across the country. It provides important research material for studying the relationship between the Qin and Rong peoples, the ancient ethnic history of northern and western Asia, as well as the cultural exchange and integration among ancient ethnic groups in China. It also offers evidence regarding the manufacturing techniques, decorative craftsmanship, and the refinement and application levels of metals such as gold, silver, and iron during that period. This has significant importance for the study of the history of science and technology in China.
