Heyu Cliff Carvings

The Heyu Cliff Carvings are a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Heyu Cliff Carvings are located in Heyu Village, Gongmen Town, Zhangchuan Hui Autonomous County, Tianshui City, dating back to the Eastern Han Dynasty. Standing 2 meters high and 1.5 meters wide, they are positioned 0.65 meters above the ground surface. The carvings feature the traditional clerical script character "漢" (Han) as the tablet’s heading, with the main text arranged in 15 rows from right to left, each row containing about 20 characters, totaling approximately 300 words. They hold significant historical and artistic value and serve as precious material for studying the politics, economy, and culture of the Tianshui region during the Eastern Han Dynasty.

On November 8, 2017, they were included in the eighth batch of Gansu Provincial-Level Cultural Relics Protection Units.

On October 7, 2019, the Heyu Cliff Carvings were added to the eighth batch of the National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units list.

Protected Area: Extending 50 meters east, south, west, and north from the reference point of the carvings.
