The Diaobuliang Site

The Diaobuliang Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Gansu Province.

The Diaobuliang Site is located 1 kilometer southwest of Yangqu Village, Liangshan Town, Zhangchuan County. It is a site where the Majiayao culture (Majiayao type and Banshan type) coexists with the Qijia culture. Covering an area of about 50,000 square meters, the cultural layer is approximately 1 to 5 meters thick, with exposed red-fired earth remains and kiln sites. Artifacts collected include black-painted parallel line and stylized bird-patterned pottery fragments from the Majiayao culture (Majiayao type), with vessel forms such as bowls; red and black zoned zigzag and parallel band-patterned pottery fragments from the Majiayao culture (Banshan type), with vessel forms such as single-handled pots, bowls, and basins; as well as clay and sandy red and gray pottery fragments from the Qijia culture, featuring decorative patterns such as cord marks, basket weave, and punctate impressions, with vessel forms including double-eared jars and folded-shoulder jars. The site is relatively well-preserved and holds significant value for studying the content of Majiayao culture and its relationship with Qijia culture.
