Xiaoyi Kuixing Tower

Xiaoyi Kuixing Tower is a cultural relic protection unit of Lüliang City.

Kuixing Tower, also known as Kuixing Lou, is located east of Sucun Village in Xiaoyi City, along the northwest Second Ring Road. Built during the Qing Dynasty, it is a municipal-level key cultural relic protection unit.

The tower stands 20 meters tall and has four floors, all of which are enclosed rooms. The first and second floors both feature a semi-circular arched door facing south and a rectangular vaulted chamber. The third floor is a hexagonal brick room with corbelled eaves, and the fourth floor is a wooden structure with a hexagonal pyramidal roof, featuring upturned eaves and ridges, with copper bells decorating each of the six corners. The second, third, and fourth floors all have surrounding corridors, allowing visitors to lean on the railings and enjoy the view from above, overlooking the distant scenery. Kuixing is the deity governing the rise and fall of literary fortune. Its statue holds a writing brush high in the right hand, with the left foot raised. It is said that wherever the brush points, that person will become the top scholar. This has not only made scholars worship the deity devoutly, but also led ordinary people to burn incense and pray to it, hoping to bless their locality with a continuous emergence of literati and a flourishing literary culture.
