40 bands take to the streets in performances as the Chiayi International Wind Band Festival kicks off in grand style

Organized by the Chiayi City Government’s Department of Cultural Affairs, the “Chiayi City International Wind Band Festival” is about to enter its 25th edition. It is Taiwan’s only and most historic music festival, with the slogan “Where there’s wind band music, there’s Chiayi,” and will feature lively street parades from December 10 to 25.

This year’s wind band festival revolves around three main themes: “music, tourism, and public welfare.” It includes a variety of related events such as indoor and outdoor concerts, wind band street parades, and formation-changing evening shows. The public across Taiwan is welcome to join the wind band craze in Chiayi and enjoy this rare musical feast.
