Mom’s Travel Fun – Travel with Peace of Mind

Feeling a bit down when you’re alone, just not wanting to stay in your usual city

Every day is the same busy routine—how long has it been since you met up with a few good friends?

Or always putting your mind on your kids and family, often neglecting yourself, and even forgetting how long it’s been since you went out “solo”

Now, it’s time to plan a mini trip!

Chiayi is the City of Sunrise—enjoy the mountains, lakes, markets, and night markets, and discover that Chiayi is not just about Alishan!

But the reality is, traveling can be expensive, which makes it even more frustrating, and the heavy pressure of life comes back again~

Mom’s Journey understands moms’ hearts, and this time, in collaboration with [Ria Travel Chiayi], which combines cultural creativity with industrial style, we offer multiple high-value accommodation solutions:
√ From January to March, April, May, June, and September 2018–2019, enjoy a weekday super relaxed price of NT$1,799; other months only require an additional NT$200

Lia Island-Hopping Travel

Wow ! A completely age-inclusive housing package !

Ria TravelThe hotel provides free Chiayi travel maps, and the front desk staff will enthusiastically assist you with travel inquiries. There are also free bicycles and electric scooters available for borrowing, allowing you to freely explore the alleys of Chiayi—it's truly a local living experience, not just being a fleeting visitor.

The hotel is located in the city center, just a five-minute walk from the train station. It's also not far from popular Chiayi attractions such as the Ai Yi Forest Life Village, Cultural Night Market, and Carrefour Night Market. Nearby, you’ll find Far Eastern and Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department stores. In fact, just the major attractions of Chiayi—Alishan and the National Palace Museum Southern Branch—are worth visiting multiple times without ever getting bored. Chiayi is fun, delicious, beautiful, and photogenic—you really should visit more often and soak up the sunshine.

If you think low prices mean low-quality service, then you’re greatly mistaken!

Ria Travel opened in 2016 and has consistently received excellent reviews on major booking websites and Google. This year, it has also become a Taiwan High Speed Rail contracted hotel. The industrial-style design and large glass windows allow natural light to flood the lobby and rooms, giving you a relaxing and refreshing feeling the moment you step inside. The hair dryers in the rooms use the premium and highly popular Panasonic EH-NA27 nano-hydro ion model, showing the hotel’s refined and meticulous attention to detail. Though it may look simple and fresh on the outside, the experience inside is truly anything but ordinary.

Let Ria Travel take you on a slow journey through Chiayi~

LIYAOU Laiyuan, "Laiyuan" is a Hokkien homophone meaning "you come around the island too"

The hotel's café is named Huan Dou Cafe, which also means "around the island" in Hokkien. The naming concept is centered around island-rounding travel, showing special thoughtfulness and warmth to travelers.

The building's exterior is simple and fresh. The first floor has a bright and elegant high-ceilinged reception lobby. The use of a lot of wooden materials gives a warm feeling, while the large, irregularly shaped sofa seats add a creative touch. Overall, it creates a relaxed and comfortable vibe, and the service from the front desk staff is particularly considerate and warm.

The hotel staff thoughtfully provide a Chiayi travel guidebook, including clear route maps—so you don't have to worry about where to eat or what to do.

On the first floor, you can see free-to-use speed bikes (Giant brand) available for guests. The little literary youth in your heart will immediately burst forth, and the feeling of travel will instantly emerge. If you want to go further, electric scooters are also available for rent at NT$100 per hour, with a one-time maximum of NT$400. Just imagine zipping through the streets and alleys on a scooter—isn’t your heart starting to race with excitement?

As soon as you walk into the room, you’re greeted by large glass windows. The moment your eyes catch the natural light, your heart just relaxes—oh, you just wanna sing.
White walls, paired with a natural wood-colored headboard and sky-blue curtains—these lovely and cozy combinations make you feel so comfortable that you just want to stay and veg out.

Then you spot the Panasonic EH-NA27 nano-ionic hair dryer—so pricey you almost didn’t dare to touch it—and you can’t help but exclaim. Today, you can finally try out its famously magical effects.

Holiday rate only adds NT$500

Room type and number of beds: 2 queen-size beds / Bed size: 180cm x 200cm / per bed
Pricing: NT$8,300 per 10 ping (33 m²)

There is an LCD TV on the wall, as well as a long desk. I found that the room is equipped with many power outlets, broadband internet, and wireless Wi-Fi. It also provides a kettle, mugs, black pine purified water, Alishan oolong tea, Sun Moon Lake black tea, and Seattle premium dark roast coffee packets—everything you could need, and the quality is quite good.

Next, of course, we quickly headed to the bathroom to check it out. The bathroom features a dry-wet separated design, with only a shower available—no bathtub—which is a slight downside. But then came a little surprise: the hotel uses bidet toilets, which stay warm in winter, making it really comfortable~

In spare time, you can play Xbox games on the first floor, and there is also a kids’ playroom with a style matching the room—cute and cozy. While exploring, you’ll also find laundry facilities in the hotel.Even the hanging cards have a cultural and creative design.

Breakfast the next day will be served at the restaurant named Huan Dou Café, available to guests of Laiya Travel and also open to the public. The decor style is diverse, including small private rooms, regular seating, and bar counters, giving you the relaxed and leisurely feeling of having brunch with friends to start your day.

After eating and drinking your fill, take a slow tour of Chiayi for a day. Open the travel map prepared by the hotel and set off—Up~

With a strong Japanese atmosphere, Chiayi City is the starting point of the Alishan Forest Railway. Due to the forestry industry, it flourished during the Japanese colonial period, leaving behind many historic Japanese-style buildings. As a result, Japanese architecture is one of Chiayi’s distinctive features.

The main exhibits are Asian art and culture, along with themed gardens, an artificial lake, and a hotel.

Visits can be reserved, and there are permanent exhibitions and a children’s creative center suitable for kids aged 5 to 12.

Take a fresh photo at the small park in front of the station—guaranteed to be super cute.
The small park in front of Beimen Station is themed “Sleeping Forest.” Designed by renowned illustrator SMART Zhuang Xintang, it features a series of Q-version animal sculptures combined with Chiayi’s traditional Koji pottery craft, creating a new highlight in installation art. The view at night is especially enchanting, attracting visitors to take photos and check in.

It is the first stop of the Alishan Forest Railway and the starting point of the forest railway’s steam trains—a must-visit for train enthusiasts.

The mini trains here are real and available for rides, with friendly guides leading tours around the park and sharing the history of the sugar factory.
The buildings here retain the style from the Japanese colonial era, helping both adults and children better understand the lives of Taiwanese people during that time.

Lia Travel is suitable forpassionate island-hopping backpackers and is also family-friendly. The best part? It’s close to the train station, so you can explore the city easily even without a car. Plus, there are free bicycles and electric scooters available for rent. Want to go somewhere nearby? It’s close to the cultural and creative park, with great accessibility and convenience. Truly recommended to everyone.
