Aichun Scenic Area is located 30 kilometers east of Yuanyang Xinjie Town and 6 kilometers east of Duoyicun Scenic Area. From 9:00 to 10:00 AM in winter and from 8:30 to 9:30 AM in spring, when looking down at the terraces along Aichun Road with the light shining directly on them, the terraces appear an unusually vivid and lovely shade of blue if the sky is clear. Those who haven’t been there in person often assume such blue-toned photos are digitally enhanced. The area is frequently accompanied by sea of clouds, adding a special charm.

The main attractions in Aichun Scenic Area include Dayutang Spot, Aichun Spot, Azheke Spot, Longshu Spot, and Dawazhe Spot. Photography tip: When taking pictures here, do not use a polarizing filter.

Transportation

[Bus]

1. Take a Kunming–Yuanyang bus from Kunming South Bus Station. There are three daily departures at 10:20, 12:30, and 19:00. The fare is 139 RMB per person, and the journey takes 5–6 hours.

2. Most buses from Kunming South Bus Station go to Nansha Town, the county seat. Transportation between Xinjie Town and Nansha is convenient, with minibuses (10 RMB per person, departing every few minutes from 7:00–20:00). Between Xinjie Town and the scenic area entrance, as well as between the entrance and various scenic spots, you can take minibuses with fares of 5–10 RMB.

3. You can also travel to Jianshui or Gejiu from Kunming first, then transfer to get to Yuanyang.

After arriving in Yuanyang, hire a local minibus to the site, with fares of 5–10 RMB.

[Private Car]

Hiring a private car in the old county town costs about 300 RMB for a full-day terrace tour, 100 RMB to go to Laohuzui, and about 150–200 RMB for a half-day sunrise trip to Duoyishu.
