Shuangba Scenic Area

The Shuangba Ecological Park is situated on the northern side of the central urban area. It connects to the south via the Shuiyan Highway (Renmin Road), links to the east with the Second Rolling Mill of Shuicheng Iron and Steel (Group) Corporation, and communicates to the west with the Shuimei Railway Line. It lies 2.5 kilometers from the location of the District People's Government. The area is surrounded by mountains on all sides, with well-preserved ecological vegetation and approximately 50% green space, including over 250 fir trees that are 60 years old. To the south of the area, there are natural barriers formed by a series of mountains—Xiejia Dayan, Dayan Mountain, Miaopao Mountain, Fengzi Mountain, Shiweigan, and Shaopopo Slope—that stretch from west to east. These mountains shield the region from industrial smoke, noise, and the hustle and bustle of the city, creating a layout characterized as “city to the south, village to the north, enterprises to the east and west.” Major attractions in the area include: Golden Bell Lake (commonly known as Shuiyan Dam or Little West Lake), Eighteen Arhats Striking the Golden Bell (a mountain in the dam that resembles a bell, surrounded by eighteen peaks), Tongtian Cave (also known as Tongdong Mountain, with an elevation of 2112.6 meters), Little Stone Forest, Stone General, over 300 acres of natural azalea forests, and more than 30 acres of natural lawns. The area features good vegetation, convenient transportation, mountain and water views, and captivating scenery. In March 2001, it was designated as the “Zhongshan District Sightseeing Agricultural Economic Park.”
