Cliff Carvings and Rock Carvings of Danxia Cave

The Cliff Carvings and Rock Carvings of Danxia Cave are a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

The Cliff Carvings and Rock Carvings of Danxia Cave are located in Xiaolong Village, Longhua Town, Pingshan County, and were built during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

The cave temple complex consists of one cliff carving and thirteen caves, all facing northeast overall. The cliff carving is situated on a cliff wall in the southwest part of the site and features a high relief standing statue of the Buddhist Amitabha, depicted with a spiral hair bun and draped in a robe, performing the "welcoming" mudra. The statue stands over 30 meters tall and is currently the tallest standing Buddha in the world, known as the Eight Immortals Mountain Giant Buddha.

It is now a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit.

Protected area: To the east, 50 meters beyond the line from Hu Guoguang Cave to Zhazimen; to the southeast, 50 meters beyond the line from Zhazimen to the Giant Statue; to the west, 50 meters beyond the line from the Giant Statue to Yuhuang Cave; to the northwest, bounded by the outer rock ridge from Yuhuang Cave to Hu Guoguang Cave.

Construction control zone: Along both sides of the mountain road, extending 10 meters outward from the center of the road. For the cliff carvings and rock carvings, to the east, extending from the line between Hu Guoguang Cave and Zhazimen to the edge of cultivated land at the foot of the rock; to the south, extending from the line between Zhazimen and the Giant Statue to the edge of cultivated land at the foot of the rock; to the west, extending from the line between the Giant Statue and Yuhuang Cave to the edge of cultivated land at the foot of the rock; to the northwest, extending 50 meters outward from the rock ridge along the line from Yuhuang Cave to Hu Guoguang Cave.
