The Eastern Han Era Sweet Fermented Rice Tourism Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Eastern Han Era Sweet Fermented Rice Tourism Area is located in Yuehua Food Park, Dazhu County, covering an area of approximately 3 square kilometers. Centered around the cultural heritage of "Dongliu Sweet Fermented Rice Brewing Techniques," and utilizing a modern production park as its main platform, the tourism area is built around three key themes: the inheritance of sweet fermented rice culture, top-tier modern production lines, and industrial poverty alleviation.

It is home to the nation’s first automated sweet fermented rice production line, with an annual production capacity of tens of thousands of tons. The workshop is surrounded by transparent glass, creating a dedicated visitor viewing corridor. Guests can observe the entire production process and see how glutinous rice is transformed step-by-step into sweet and delicious sweet fermented rice.

Dongliu Sweet Fermented Rice Co., Ltd. is the largest enterprise in China engaged in the production and self-operated import-export of sweet fermented rice. To implement the rural revitalization strategy, accelerate the deep integration of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, and promote the coordinated development of agriculture, tourism, and culture, the company has leveraged the advantages of the Eastern Han Era sweet fermented rice industry since 2015. Within the park, it has planned and developed supporting facilities such as a visitor center, the Eastern Han Gate Tower, an ecological park, walking trails, and viewing platforms. The company is vigorously advancing the integration of industry and tourism, transforming the park into a scenic area and factory buildings into tourist attractions.

In addition to the modern production workshops, the tourism area also features a Sweet Fermented Rice Culture Museum, which displays ancient tools used in traditional sweet fermented rice brewing. Visitors can also learn about the origin of rice, the connection between glutinous rice and sweet fermented rice, the development history of Eastern Han sweet fermented rice, and the broader culture of sweet fermented rice in China.

Historical records indicate that the brewing techniques of Dongliu Sweet Fermented Rice have a long history, originating in the Han Dynasty and flourishing in the Qing Dynasty. The technique was most prominent near Dongliu Bridge, north of Dazhu County, hence the name "Dongliu Sweet Fermented Rice." During the development of the tourism area, Dongliu Sweet Fermented Rice Co., Ltd. utilized the local famous Yuhuang Temple site to build China’s first Sweet Fermented Rice Culture Museum. The site also includes a hands-on sweet fermented rice experience workshop, allowing visitors to personally engage in the traditional brewing process and help preserve and promote the traditional dietary culture of sweet fermented rice.
