After the explosive popularity of Hsinchu’s Sea Sounds, many tourists have flocked there to take photos and capture the atmosphere stretching all the way to the center of the sea. But beyond Sea Sounds, Hsinchu has plenty of other worthwhile destinations. Below is a list of five popular check-in spots, including a Greek-style fishing harbor, a Taiwan version of a Disney castle, and a photography haven known as Tofu Rock — each with its own unique style and charm, making them perfect for enriching your photo album.

1. Nanliao Leisure Fishing Harbor
The area around Nanliao Fishing Harbor in Hsinchu was originally built by fishermen to make a living. As fish stocks dwindled, it was transformed into a leisure fishing harbor. Around the tourist service center, blue-and-white buildings with a Mediterranean vibe have been constructed, attracting many visitors to take photos.

2. Buddha World
This pointed castle is located within Buddha World. Originally part of a fairy-tale theme park that was later abandoned, it has become one of Taiwan’s most unique private meditation spaces. The azure, pointed castle resembles the home of a Disney princess. Though weathered over the years, its charm remains undiminished.

3. Tofu Rock
The neatly arranged Tofu Rock formations are a sacred site for photographers. Flowing water weaves through the square rocks, and with the differing scenery of day and night, a variety of beautiful views can be captured — making it a long-standing hot spot for check-ins.
