China Karst Geology Museum
The China Karst Geology Museum serves as a popular science education base.
Location: Guilin City, Guangxi.
Introduction: The China Karst Geology Museum is affiliated with the Institute of Karst Geology under the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences. Opened in 1983, it has a construction area of over 2,000 square meters and an exhibition area of 1,400 square meters. The museum displays and demonstrates popular science knowledge about karst through pictures, geological models, physical specimens, multimedia, and other methods. The content includes basic theories and specialized knowledge on karst development processes and mechanisms, karst landforms, cave landscapes, karst ecosystems, karst resources, karst geological hazards, karst ore deposits, and more. The introduction to the International Research Center on Karst is also a highlight of the museum’s exhibitions, providing a new platform for promoting karst science globally. The museum has now become a showcase of karst scientific knowledge and a hub for popularizing karst science and cultural awareness.
