For many travelers, taking a premium sleeper train is not about saving on hotel costs or time, but rather about pursuing the rare dream of spending a noble night on the railway. In addition to the北斗星 (Hokutosei), 曙光 (Twilight Express), and the luxurious カシオペア (Cassiopeia), Japan’s 3-billion-yen "Seven Stars in Kyushu" also set off on its maiden journey on the 15th of this month. The highly confidential exterior and interior design of Seven Stars in Kyushu have now been revealed to all sleeper train enthusiasts.

Emphasizing a vintage luxury aesthetic that blends traditional Japanese and Western styles through wood and carpeting, the Seven Stars in Kyushu train features just one Luxury Suite Type A, one Luxury Suite Type B, and 12 standard suites—totaling 14 compartments for 28 passengers. Additionally, an open observation deck is located at the front of the train, while the center offers seating areas where guests can relax and enjoy the train’s opulent spaces, which will also host various performance events.
Positioned as a luxury sleeper train, Seven Stars in Kyushu also has certain requirements for passengers. First, participants must be at least middle school age. In the dining car and public areas, wearing jeans and slippers is not allowed, and smoking is prohibited throughout the train to ensure the overall travel experience.

The Seven Stars in Kyushu offers two types of itineraries: a 4-day/3-night trip and a 2-day/1-night trip, each running once a week and both departing from Hakata Station. The routes visit famous sightseeing spots such as Yufuin, Miyazaki, Kirishima, Kumamoto, and Aso. The 4-day/3-night trip is priced between NT$115,000 and NT$170,000, while the 2-day/1-night trip is around NT$46,000 to NT$67,000. However, all slots up to the first half of next year have already been sold out, and bookings for the second half of next year will open in January.
