Guilin Stone Carving Museum

The stone carvings at Longyin Rock and Longyin Cave under the jurisdiction of Guilin Stone Carving Museum are among the most concentrated and typical examples of stone carvings in Guilin. There are currently 213 cliff inscriptions extant, including 1 from the Tang Dynasty, 111 from the Song Dynasty, 1 from the Yuan Dynasty, 42 from the Ming Dynasty, 26 from the Qing Dynasty, and 32 of undetermined date. The earliest inscription is the “Azalea Poetic Dialogue” by Zhang Jun and Liu Chonggui from the first year of the Qian Ning era of the Tang Dynasty (894).
