Qinzhou Garden Expo Park

Qinzhou Garden Expo Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Qinzhou Garden Expo Park is located in Shabu Town, Qinnan District, Qinzhou City, at the intersection of Jinhaiwan East Avenue and Qinzhou Port Avenue. It is about a 10-minute drive from downtown Qinzhou, boasting a prime location and convenient transportation. To the east is Jinkou Avenue, to the west is Jinkou Railway, to the south lies the Nixing Pottery Cultural and Creative Industrial Park, and to the north is Jinhaiwan East Avenue. The planned area covers 82.17 hectares, with an estimated total investment of 900 million yuan. The design of Qinzhou Garden Expo Park is themed “Coastal Charm & Pottery Greenery,” showcasing the city’s distinctive landscape and cultural features by integrating natural resources such as mountains, forests, lakes, and islands, along with the prominent local pottery culture. Unlike previous expos that centralized city displays, the 14 participating city gardens will be spread across the landscape like pearls scattered over the South China Sea, harmonizing with the existing terrain and blending local folk culture and regional characteristics. Major thoroughfares will connect the gardens like a silk thread, forming a striking “South Sea Pearl Necklace.”

The 9th Guangxi (Qinzhou) Garden and Horticulture Expo (Qinzhou Garden Expo), held from December 2, 2016, to January 2, 2017, featured a variety of exhibitions and events organized by Qinzhou City within the expo park. Key activities included the opening ceremony and Qinzhou Garden’s “City Activity Day,” the “City Activity Days” of 13 co-hosting cities, as well as exhibitions such as flower arrangement shows, potted plant displays, calligraphy and painting exhibits, and photography showcases.

This edition of the Garden Expo integrated natural ecological conservation, horticultural landscape design, Nixing pottery culture presentation, ethnic culture promotion, and new technologies like sponge city concepts. It prominently featured spaces such as the Nixing Pottery Museum, Qinzhou City Garden, ASEAN Garden, Nixing Pottery Masters' Garden, gardens from various Guangxi cities, the Eco-Science Popularization Garden, the Natural Mountain and Forest Experience Area, the Waterfront Wetland Scenic Zone, and the Main Entrance Plaza. Together, these elements formed a comprehensive garden-visiting system.

With an investment of 930 million yuan, the Qinzhou Garden Expo not only provided residents with a high-quality large-scale theme park, but also closely aligned with the development of Qinzhou’s Nixing pottery industry, the creation of a National Ecological Garden City, Smart City, and Sponge City, further elevating the city’s image and refining its cultural taste.

The design of the Garden Expo fully respects the original site conditions, preserving the natural topography and ecological environment while meeting the functional and scenic needs during the expo. It also takes future post-event operations into full consideration. Leveraging the region’s premium natural mountain and water resources and the principle of framed views, the design uses “water” as a focal visual element. By shaping the terrain within the park, it creates a rich sense of spatial depth. Through horticultural design, corresponding planting plans, and strategic placement of high points (including buildings, lighthouses, viewing platforms, and slopes), distant landscapes, nearby waters, and garden scenes are seamlessly integrated, forming a multi-dimensional and richly layered scenic panorama.
