Donglan Red Tourism Area

The Donglan Red Tourism Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a classic red tourism destination.

Donglan County in Guangxi is a nationally renowned revolutionary base area. It is the birthplace of the peasant movement in Guangxi, the heartland of the Youjiang Revolutionary Base, and the cradle of the revolutionary struggles in the Youjiang region led by Deng Xiaoping, Zhang Yunyi, and Wei Baqun, as well as the origin of the Baise Uprising.

There are nearly 50 revolutionary sites and relics within Donglan County, including Lenin Cave, the former site of the Guangxi Peasant Movement Institute, Kuixing Tower, the former site of the vanguard committee of the Red Seventh Army, the Donglan Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery, the former residence of Wei Baqun, and the Wei Baqun Memorial Hall. Currently, all red-themed attractions in Donglan County are open to the public free of charge, making it an “open-air revolutionary museum.”

In 2010, five sites in Donglan—including the Donglan Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery, the Wei Baqun Memorial Hall, Lenin Cave (former site of the Guangxi Peasant Movement Institute), Kuixing Tower (former site of the vanguard committee of the Red Seventh Army), and the former residence of Wei Baqun—were included in the first batch of the National Classic Red Tourism Attractions list.
