Monument to the Seventy-Two Martyrs
The tower was initiated in 1938 by Colonel Chen Jiong, commander of the 1020th Regiment of the 170th Division stationed in Daxu Town. It was built to commemorate the soldiers who died in the July 7th War of Resistance against Japan and the Seventy-Two Martyrs of Huanghuagang. The tower was renovated this spring.
