Following the “Da’an Humanities Stroll Light Point” and the “Datunpu Humanities and Nature Light Point,” the third light point of the “Northern District International Light Point Project” — the “Dadaocheng Humanities District” — has officially been illuminated. This year’s theme is the humanities district. From now until September 6, eight small themed pavilions — including Yeh Tang, Beitou Cultural Artifacts Museum, and Xia Hai Cheng Huang Temple — will be set up in the Taipei Railway Station lobby. These pavilions will showcase the features and essence of the three light points, allowing the public to experience the new cultural charm of the Northern District through these light point pavilions.

The eight displayed light point pavilions each have different themes, including the “Yeh Tang,” “Chiu Hui Library,” and “Chang Art Workshop” from the Da’an Humanities Stroll Light Point; the “Beitou Cultural Artifacts Museum,” “Lin Yutang’s Former Residence,” and “Beitou Park and Green Architecture” from the Datunpu Humanities and Nature Light Point; and the “Xia Hai Cheng Huang Temple” and “Xiao Yi Ting and Min Yi Ting” from the Dadaocheng Humanities District Light Point. During the exhibition period, events such as the “Hand-Painted Street Houses Exhibition of Dadaocheng’s North, Central, and South Streets,” tea ceremony demonstrations, and special exhibition guided tours will be arranged. Visitors can obtain information related to the three major themes of the Northern District International Light Point, as well as details about Light Point Travelers, from the various pavilions.
The site also displays traveler booklets and pictorials in three languages — Chinese, English, and Japanese — suitable for both group and independent travelers. These include guides for the “Dadaocheng Humanities District,” “Da’an Humanities Stroll,” and “Datunpu Humanities and Nature.” For independent travelers, there are also travel itinerary brochures, postcards, CDs, light point booklets, as well as exclusive exhibition cards, traveler experience vouchers, and commemorative gift packs issued by seven on-site exhibitions such as the Beitou Cultural Artifacts Museum.
In addition, the Northern District International Light Point Project has planned seven major special exhibitions to be launched successively from now on. These include the “‘Sori Yanagi’ and ‘Taike Blue’ Special Exhibition” at Min Yi Ting, the “Traveler Special Exhibition” at Xiao Yi Ting, the “Puppet Show Spectacular Exhibition” at the Lin Liuxin Memorial Puppet Museum, the “Exciting Exhibition of Taiwan History” at the Chiu Hui Library, the “Bird’s-Eye World — Yang Ye’s Hand-Drawn Maps of Beitou” at the Beitou Hot Spring Museum, the “Tea Ware Exhibition Around the Tea Tasting Space” at Yeh Tang, and the “Nectar of Humanity – Tea Culture Special Exhibition” at the Beitou Cultural Artifacts Museum.
