Yupo Enrong Stone Memorial Archway

Yupo Enrong Stone Memorial Archway, located in Yupu Village, Yantang Township. Constructed in the 17th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1752) by Liao Shide (courtesy name Zaolin) in memory of his ancestor Liao Su. It covers an area of 10.4 square meters, is 6.2 meters wide, and has a total height of 6.9 meters. This four-pillar, three-bay, five-story stone memorial archway features a hip-and-gable roof made of blue stone, built using mortise-and-tenon joints. The pillars stand on stone pedestals, with drum stones at the front and back. The central pillar features carved stone lions on the drum stones at the front. The main ridge at the top of the central bay’s hip-and-gable roof is adorned with upward-curving fish-shaped chimeras at both ends, with a precious gourd finial at the center. The four bracket sets feature openwork floral windows. The central horizontal beam below the crossbeam bears the vertically inscribed characters “Enrong” (Imperial Favor) in regular script. The decorative beams and stone slabs between them are carved with relief designs such as two dragons playing with a pearl, two lions playing with a ball, a horseback procession scene, scroll patterns, or engraved inscriptions, all exquisitely crafted. It has been listed as a county-level key cultural relics protection unit.
