Fucang Mountain Temple

Fucang Mountain Temple is a municipal cultural heritage site under the protection of Chenzhou City.

Fucang Mountain Temple is located on Fucang Mountain at the border of Liantang Town and Baishui Township in Guiyang County, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.

In 2018, Fucang Mountain Temple was designated as part of the fourth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units by the Chenzhou Municipal People's Government.

Protected Area: Extends 20 meters in all directions from the outer wall foundation.

Construction Control Zone: Extends 30 meters beyond the protected area in all directions.

Liantang Town: The former Guangming Township and Liantang Town were merged to form the new Liantang Town. The newly established Liantang Town administers 38 administrative villages, 2 community neighborhood committees, covers a total area of 152.58 square kilometers, and has a population of 47,300. The town government is located in Liantang Market (the former site of the Liantang Town government).

Name Origin: In the first year of the Tang Dynasty's Kaicheng era (836 AD), settlers from Jiangxi moved to this area, where five lotus ponds were found, hence the name “Liantang” (Lotus Pond).
