The former residence of Liu Fangwu is a municipal-level cultural heritage protection unit in Chenzhou.

The former residence of Liu Fangwu is located in Shuangling Group, Xiayuan Village, Renyi Town, Guiyang County, dating back to the Republican era.

In 2018, the former residence of Liu Fangwu was designated as part of the fourth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units by the People’s Government of Chenzhou City.

Protected area: starting from the foundation of the outer walls of the building, extending two meters outward in all four directions.

Construction control zone: extending ten meters outward from the protected area in all four directions.

Liu Fangwu (1899–1994) graduated from the Infantry Department of the First Brigade, Sixth Class of the Whampoa Military Academy. Also known as Buji, he was a native of Guiyang, Hunan. He attended the Lankia United Middle School in Guiyang, the Third Phase of the Central Military Training Corps at Mount Lu, the Second Phase of the Tactical Class at the Ramgarh Tactical School in India, the Seventh Phase of the Special Class at the Army University, the Eighth Phase of the Yuanshan Military Training Corps in Taiwan, and the Eighth Phase of the Army Command and Staff College in Taiwan. He served successively as a platoon leader in the Special Duties Company of the Instructional Division of the National Revolutionary Army General Headquarters, a company commander in the Third Special Duties Company of the Presidential Guard Regiment, and a company commander in the Fourth Infantry Regiment of the 5th Army and the Tax Police Regiment under the Ministry of Finance. Xiayuan Village: Xiayuan Cun

Named after the natural village of Xiayuan. The village is located in the northwest of Renyi Town, approximately 8 kilometers from the town government. It borders Tonggang Village to the east, Dahu Village and Liufang Village to the south, Yinshan Village to the west, and Tongziping Forest Farm of Taihe Forest Farm in the county and Guanglu Village of Aoshui Town to the north, facing Changjiang Village of the town across the river.
