Zhinü Lake is a national water conservancy scenic area.

Zhinü Lake Scenic Area is located in the southern part of Hengyang County, Hunan Province, integrating mountains, water, springs, and caves, and encompassing the qualities of wonder, beauty, peril, and serenity. The area features the majestic and elegant Ziyun Peak, where lush pines and bamboos thrive. Midway up the peak stands the Ziyun Buddhist Temple, and nearby there is a massive Echoing Drum Cliff. When visitors gently strike the cliff, a clear and melodious drum-like sound resonates from beneath, a truly unique experience.

Beneath Ziyun Peak, the lake’s shimmering waters wind in mysterious patterns, creating the spectacular sight of mountains within the lake and a lake nestled among mountains. Boating on the lake, or enjoying fishing and swimming, offers a leisurely and uplifting experience that refreshes both body and mind.

To the south of Ziyun Peak lies a large karst cave, featuring diverse and intricate formations, deep winding passages, and unique landscapes. Next to the cave entrance is a natural mineral spring, known for its crystal-clear water and rich, refreshing taste, attracting many visitors to drink from it.
