As the new year began and everything was renewed, with no signs of the world ending, 2013 arrived as promised. On January 1st, with the strong support of the renowned outdoor brand CARAVA, the Hengyang Hiking Association once again successfully hosted its annual citywide sports event—the City Loop Race (Hiking)—on a grand scale. In the evening, the "Hengyang City Hiking Sports Association 2013 New Year’s Gala & Awards Ceremony" was held, where government officials and outdoor enthusiasts from all walks of life gathered together to celebrate joyfully with songs and dances.
This grand event reached an unprecedented scale, with a total of 8,000 participants, including 6,000 runners and 2,000 hikers who trekked over 20 kilometers. The main participants included outdoor enthusiasts from across the city, socially responsible businesses, environmental volunteers, as well as government officials. They came together to celebrate the arrival of 2013.
The event received high attention from the leadership of the renowned outdoor brand CARAVA. The Hengyang City Hiking Sports Association 2013 New Year’s Gala & Awards Ceremony was held that evening at the Telecom Bureau Auditorium. Attending the event were sports officials from the Municipal Sports Bureau, Civil Affairs Bureau, Culture Bureau, and Dance Association, along with media representatives from Hengyang News Network, 21 sports associations under the Municipal Sports Bureau, Wan Xiaoning, director of the Municipal Calligraphy Association, and the famous painter couple Li Siwei. In addition to these notable guests, CARAVA also provided generous prizes as awards for the event.
On this memorable day, people left their own mark. Everyone expressed that they had greatly benefited from the event and hoped the government would organize more such activities. They also pledged to participate again next year and thanked the CARAVA brand for its strong support of the event.
