The Qiyang Wuxi Water Conservancy Scenic Area involves various riverside administrative villages across 12 towns (streets) in Qiyang County, including Dacundian Town, Maozhu Town, and Wuxi Subdistrict, with a total area of 51.59 square kilometers, of which 26.58 square kilometers are water areas, making up 51.52% of the total. This scenic area is a natural river-lake type water conservancy scenic area, primarily featuring natural ecological landscapes such as the Xiang River, Qishui River, Baishui River, Wuxi Wetland, Pipa Islet, Shixia Islet, Guanyin Beach, Zhongzhou Island, ancient trees, and pastoral scenery, as well as historical and cultural sites including the Wuxi Stele Forest, Tao Zhu’s Former Residence, Li Family Courtyard, Yang Family Ancestral Hall, and the Catholic Church. Supported by the culture of Sanwu and the folk culture of Qiyang, the area is dedicated to protecting water resource safety, maintaining healthy water environments and ecosystems, and focuses on ecological protection and restoration as well as waterfront recreation. It integrates multiple functions such as water conservancy utility, cultural experience, landscape leisure, waterfront entertainment, ecological education, and pastoral scenery.
