Eagle Rock Cave

The Eagle Rock Grand Canyon is located within the territory of Longchuantang Yao Ethnic Township, serving as a natural scenic attraction. Here, steep peaks line both banks, and when looking up, the cliffs form a narrow crevice like a “skyline slit.” Massive rocks hang overhead, and the cave serves as a habitat for eagles and falcons, hence the name “Eagle Rock Cave.” The cave is approximately 6.7 meters high, twisting and dark inside, with narrow sections where visitors must turn sideways to pass. The cave walls are covered with rock ear fungus, and there is a deep pool below. At the top of a nearby mountain stands an upright, arrow-like giant rock, named Qianyan. Traveling further upstream along the creek reveals even more spectacular scenery, including over ten attractions such as Sister Rocks, Huangshatang, Stone Heart, and Stone Bamboo Shoots. These form a winding, zigzagging natural scenic area stretching 4,500 meters in total, resembling a path of nine turns and eighteen bends.

Eagle Rock Cave is the essence of the Snow Mountain Scenic Area and a masterpiece of nature sculpted by the magical and perilous forces of Snow Mountain. It boasts “thousands of rugged rocks contributing to its majesty and countless streams enhancing its beauty,” and is hailed as the “Zhangjiajie of Huaihua.” The canyon stretches 9 kilometers in total, combining elements of danger, waterfalls, serenity, beauty, wonder, and mystery. Numerous attractions such as General Rock, Ox Nose, Water Curtain Cave, Skyline Slit, and White Hanging Waterfall leave visitors in awe.
