Laoye Alley is located on the east side outside the county government office and can be accessed from the middle section of Fufront Street. The alley is long, narrow, and quiet, stretching 300 meters in total, making it the longest alley in Qianyang Ancient Town. It got its name because during the Qing Dynasty, officials from the county government would walk through this alley between the government office and their official residences.

Note Hall is located at the southern end of Laoye Alley. It was the former residence of Dai Chengzhe, the magistrate of Qianyang County in the 36th year of the Republic of China (1947). After the “March 25 Incident” in the 38th year of the Republic of China (1949), he fled to Taiwan with his wife and daughters, where he later served as an advisor to the Taiwanese provincial government’s ambassador to South Korea.

In the old days, there was a saying about Laoye Alley: “Lantou Pai, Lengtu Street, signs hang all over Laoye Alley.” Lantou Pai referred to the shabby Sailor Street, a slum area; Lengtu Street was a wealthy residential district, usually deserted; in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican period, Laoye Alley was a hub for local handicraft workshops and shops, once filled with signs and signboards.

Qiancheng Town: Qiancheng Town is located in the southwestern part of Hongjiang City and is now the seat of the new Hongjiang municipal government and the location of its administration. Qiancheng has a long history—since the establishment of the county in the early Western Han Dynasty until 1949, it had always been the county seat. In 1998, Qianyang County and Hongjiang City merged to form the new Hongjiang City, with the new Hongjiang Municipal People's Government headquartered in Qiancheng Town. In December 2004, the new Hongjiang municipal government moved to Qiancheng Town, and by 2012, all government units had relocated there.
